360 deal
The label takes a piece of everything — records, live, merch, sometimes publishing.
A 360 (multiple-rights) deal means the company shares in income streams beyond the master: touring, merch, sometimes publishing, sometimes branding. It can be rational if they are truly building those businesses with you and the split is fair. It is a trap when the advance is recouped against everything, the term is long, and 'services' are an intern and a Spotify pitch. Independents should default to license or distribution deals. If you sign a 360, cap the non-record percentages, exclude existing publishing, and get sunset language.
