Pick one US PRO and actually register the works. The application is not the registration.
ASCAP is a US PRO. When your song is performed — radio, venues, many streaming services — the PRO collects performance royalties and pays a writer share and a publisher share. If you have not set up a publishing entity, register as both writer and publisher or you leave the publisher share on the table. You cannot be a writer at ASCAP and BMI at the same time. Register works as they are finished, with the correct splits. International collection rides on reciprocal societies.
